Tech 1010 Newsletter - Issue 27

Happy March!

Spring represents new beginnings 💐 and this month we're giving flowers 🌻 to our newest members of the Local 1010 community, findhelp Solidarity Network who are finishing up their election period, and Bandcamp United who just went public with their union!

Flowers (like unions) take care, time, and the right conditions to bloom and this month, we're thinking a lot about the process of breaking ground. When a union goes public, management does what they can to stymie it's growth. Union-busting looks like sowing confusion and division to create bad conditions for flowers to grow. Or, management can delay the process so the flower runs out of nutrients it needs to grow. Management might try to convince the flower that it's better to stay underground or that blooming takes nutrients from other plants. But, our flowers are hardy (and inoculated) and will not only bloom this season, but also continue to thrive.

Happy spring. Touch grass, smell the flowers, drink water, support each other and remember — growth can be uncomfortable, but spring (and your union!) is inevitable.

<3,

Kaarthika, RV, and Toy
