Happy February!
This month, we’re thinking about love — and not in the Valentine’s-Day-buy-chocolates-and-flowers-and-stuffed-bears-way, but in the celebrate the deep care and commitment we have for our fellow workers kind-of-way!
Under capitalism we’re pitted against each other, competing for raises and promotions. We’re taught that there is a scarcity and only a few can make it. We are isolated from each other, alienated from each other in ways that make it hard to connect with people outside of what they can do for you, and we’re taught to treat each other as a means to an end.
But when we ground ourselves in love we reject all of that. Love is abundant. Love is saying that "hey, I can be my best self and grow and prosper and so can everyone else." Love is what allows us to embrace the idea of a world where we *all* live beautiful lives and we support each other in our growth. Where we trust each other and do our best to engage deeply in conflict and see where the other person is coming from.
To extend love to each other, to believe that we’re stronger together — not divided — that is revolutionary.
So we love you. We love to see how you support each other, encourage each other to be brave, hype each other up, and keep each other safe!
